Laprinol

Laprinol™ (Cleavers Combo)

Lymphatic alterative

This combination acts to promote the flow of lymph, to aid detoxification and dispel lymphoedema.

This combination has as its primary uses:

• to alleviate lymphatic congestion, lymphadenitis, inflamed lymph nodes and swollen glands
• to treat tonsillitis
• to treat chronic rhinitis

“The name ‘lymphatic’ was given to those remedies used for inflammation of the lymphatic nodes: They were thought in naturopathic terms to improve the rate of flow through the lymphatic system and help tissue cleansing that way.”  The herbs in this combo all act to some degree upon the lymphatic system or aid the other herbs in this action. Goldenseal also acts more specifically on mucus membrane tissues, thus addressing the tonsillitis and rhinitis issues, while prickly ash also acts as a diffusive stimulant. The latter denote the class of herbs that carry other herbs to their seat of action in the body.

Hoffmann explains that the tonsils are a glandular tissue that is a variety of lymphatic tissue, which “shares with other lymphatic glands a role in defending the body from infection.”  Thus, by addressing lymph, this formula indirectly also aids in tonsil and sinus/nasal problems.

Combinations to consider: Consider using Laprinol™ alongside EchinaSeal® for acute infections such as the common cold, flu, sinusitis and tonsillitis. Consider taking this along with our Deep Immune® formula for a chronic tendency to repeated colds, flu or other infections. Laprinol™ should also be considered as part of a comprehensive detoxification protocol, along with Clear River Cleanse®, Hepato DR®, Parafect®, and BulkLax® (contact St. Francis Herb Farm, Inc. for details).

A NOTE ON TINCTURES

Tinctures are more readily absorbed by the body and have a high degree of bio-availability. As well, they have a long shelf life.

Sometimes people ask us why tinctures are alcohol-based. There are very good reasons. Alcohol is critically important in the extraction of an herb's medicinal ingredients. It also helps to stabilize and preserve them. Alcohol is the ideal carrier substance, conveying the therapeutic goodness of the herb to the body. In itself, too, science has proven that alcohol enhances the immune system and its defences.

As for the amount of alcohol taken in an average dose of tincture, you'll be surprised to learn that it's about the same as what you'd find in an overly ripe banana!

Tinctures remain the most practical way to take advantage of the amazing, health-giving power of herbs.

Testimonials

I have used Cleavers Combo successfully.

“I have used Cleavers Combo successfully, specifically in one case with chronically enlarged axilla lymph nodes. The lymph nodes in this 56 year old female patient, upon follow up with ultrasound, had significantly reduced. As well, symptomatically she had greatly improved.”

Personally, I have had much success with the tinctures.

“Personally, I have had much success with the tinctures, especially the Borage `B’ Combo, which I recently discovered to be fabulously effective for fibromyalgia, with results noticeable within a week. I would not want to be be without the Deep Immune®, which I use frequently in children with chronically weak immune systems, or the Cleavers Combo for infections, not to mention the Vitex Combo for my female patients with hormonal disturbances. I often use the Oat and Passionflower tinctures for children with ADD/ADHD and other behavioral problems, and who could forget the Ear Oil for little ones with ear infections, often providing immediate relief for child and parent alike. I also love the Usnea Combo for coughs, even though it tastes terrible; it is very effective.”

Almost immediately, the pain lessened.

“I have used this product before as part of a detox program, along with Dandelion Combo and Milk Thistle Combo. However, recently I had the occasion to use it for breast cysts. This is a problem I have had for many years and I find that it is relieved by eliminating caffeine, animal fats and dairy products from my diet. One morning recently, I discovered a large, painful cyst that was hot to touch. I wasn’t quite sure what to do, when I remembered that I had Cleavers Combo in my cabinet. I decided to try that both internally and externally. Almost immediately, the pain lessened, and, after a few days, the cyst was greatly reduced in size. About three weeks later, I couldn’t feel the cyst at all. I found it’s very effective to use the Cleavers Combo accompanied with diet changes.”
