Adaptogen formula
The daily trials incidental to modern life have a huge impact on every one of us without exception. The stresses of a daily commute, pollution, strenuous exercise, poor diet, and a host of other factors all add up to take a large toll on our health. These stresses can influence immune and adrenal functions, not to mention our mental and emotional equilibrium.
Herbal medicines can help to reduce the negative effects that stress places upon the body. St. Francis Herb Farm® has established the essential adaptogens and combined them in a single, easy-to-take, and affordable product. Strest™ is one significant answer to the stresses of modern life.
The reader is no doubt familiar with the term adaptogen, coined by the Russian scientist Lavarov and redefined in 1999 by Panossian et al. as “metabolic regulators which increase the ability of an organism to adapt to environmental factors and to avoid damage from such factors”.  The ingredients are medicinal plant adaptogens, some with thousands of years of traditional use behind them. A tremendous amount of modern clinical and laboratory work confirms that they are especially effective adaptogens.
Although Chinese ginseng is classically the benchmark adaptogen, modern evidence has found other herbs to have equal or greater benefit without the potential over-stimulation that can occur in some ginseng users.
It is our view that Strest® represents the best adaptogen combination available. Many authors, researchers and clinicians believe that adaptogens should be taken by all individuals at all times, to reduce the detrimental effects that stress has on the body, to improve immunity and to reduce susceptibility to the deleterious effects of a toxic environment.
Other combinations to consider:
Consider taking Strest® with ValeriCalm™ if anxiety or insomnia is present.
